Mady Delvaux, at the very latest, has kicked off the discussion on whether the existing product liability regime is adequate for products equipped with artificial intelligence. In a resolution of the European Parliament initiated by Ms Delvaux at the beginning of 2017, 396 MEPs declared themselves to be in favour of the following: "to explore, analyse and consider the implications of all possible legal solutions", and "creating a specific legal status for robots in the long run".
