Why this must be viewed critically from a data protection point of view

Is Facebook’s handling of personal data an abuse of conditions pursuant to Section 19 (1) of the German Act against Restraints of Competition (“Competition Act”) due to inappropriate data processing?

The German Federal Cartel Office (“Bundeskartellamt”) investigated this question in the current proceedings, which have now been concluded. On 7 February 2019, the authority announced that it had prohibited Facebook from combining user data from various sources.
