Data deletion is often neglected when it comes to GDPR compliance even though the GDPR requires regular deletion of data. To comply with this obligation, a deletion concept should be planned and executed. Microsoft 365 poses particular challenges in this regard as well as offering particular solutions.

This event provides insights on the key elements of a data deletion and retention concept, as well as demonstrating how Microsoft 365 can help with implementing such a concept.

Session 1
Key factors for a GDPR-compliant Deletion Concept

GDPR requires regular deletion of personal data. Accordingly, personal data must be deleted as soon as the purpose of processing is fulfilled. Due to the existence of various legal retention periods, the proper deletion of data is an extremely complex matter for many companies. It is therefore important to develop a deletion concept which is specially tailored in order to allow the company to meet its requirements for the regular deletion of data in compliance with the GDPR.

This session provides insights on the key components of a deletion concept.

Session 2
Records management in Microsoft 365

Until relatively recently, most businesses stored their business information and records in a bewildering range of different systems and different formats. Managing information in such a wide range of storage systems and formats in line with business and regulatory requirements, from creation to deletion, is time-consuming and expensive. It is therefore not a surprise that the business case for good records management has, for a long time, struggled to attract investment against competing business priorities.

But the move to the Cloud, particularly for collaboration on unstructured data such as documents, spreadsheets and emails, is a potential game changer. With Microsoft 365, efficient and effective records and information management is realistic and affordable, but it requires careful planning, design and implementation.

In this session, Lighthouse Global will explain what M365 records management is and how entities wishing to implement M365 records management should prepare.
