In order to give hackers no chance when it comes to medical devices, manufacturers must consider the state of the art in IT technology at all times and inform the user about risks and measures. 

More than just panic-mongering or fiction: potential cyber attacks on life-preserving medical devices and the healthcare system. The fact is that the performance of medical devices is becoming dependent on the error-free performance of firmware and software to a greater and greater extent.
