Updatability, mandatory updates and product liability law framework

The number of products which contain software or which function in a software environment is increasing at a massive pace. In addition to many other questions, this raises the question of liability for damages caused by software errors or software which is vulnerable to attack.

Philipp Reusch takes up the topic in the current edition of BetriebsBerater magazine and analyzes the aspects of product liability and product safety law, as well as addressing the question as to whether there is a duty to make a product updatable by design.
